Leeds-based Sore Skateboards is owned and run by Vince Orr, who began the company to give a platform to some of Yorkshire’s under-the-radar skaters. With a true underground vibe, Orr shies away from calling Sore a ‘brand’, as he concentrates solely on putting out quality street skateboarding with a distinctive UK feel.

In its three years on the scene, Sore has put together a fine team of riders featuring raw street ripper Guy Jones, Nike SB’s underrated star James ‘Foz’ Foster, silky smooth Brenna Harrap, crete master Ben ‘Bruce’ Lister and Ali Watson. New boy Barnsley-born Myles Rushworth is an unleashed talent who continues to skate every day despite holding down a full time job. There is also a flow line-up including Paul ‘Wapo’ Watson.

Sore already has a load of edits mainly highlighting simple, fast skating on sketchy, off-the-beaten-track street spots. There is also the brilliant 40-minute full-length video Reprobates featuring the full Sore team out and about on gritty northern streets, and also featuring assorted other Yorkshire-based friends such as Mike Arnold, Lee Rozee, Sam Moss, Rory McKenzie, Robbie Tattershall, Aiden Blaymire and Jason Brown.

In August 2013, a teaser was released for a new Sore team edit, and the finished Cul-de-Sac promo was 12 minutes of UK rawness, packed full of new footage from the likes of Foster, Blaymire, Rushforth, Jones, Harrap and Ali Watson. The company also introduced a new line of graphics and shapes for its boards, and, almost uniquely, continues to screen print all its own soft goods.
