“On our last day in Rio we headed to the Favela to skate a concrete mini ramp – it’s the same one Bob skates in the Brazil issue of 411 about ten years ago. The Favela’s are illegal settlements on the steep hills on the edge of Rio run by drugs gangs where the police don’t dare go. Amazing place, amazing people, the only unsettling thing was seeing guys riding round on the back of motorbikes with massive AK47′s. Especially when Bozza decided to befriend one of them by offering him some vodka…” – James Stentiford
