Sunday Service: Jimmy Boyes - "Way Up North" (2008)

“Anyone who needs informing why a full Jimmy Boyes part is essential viewing, pay attention. Jimmy has been killing it on a skateboard since long before most other people on the DVD were in nappies, cannot be killed by conventional human methods, and can do things on his skateboard that leave you shouting “what?” repeatedly at the TV screen. Which is exactly what this section does.
Starting off with a collection of older footage, Jimmy then proceeds to caveman tailslide handrails, properly rock n’ roll a barrier out of a bank, generally skate the unskateable and confuse the hell out of you for three minutes. The footage of the tailstall flip at Five Bridges is in there, and yes, it is as scary to watch on footage as it looks in the sequence.
Jimmy is as raw, OG and creative as it gets. Bear witness and be stoked on a true UK original.”
