Hot on the heels of his 2002 Vans demo clip a few weeks back, Lewis “Spex” Ross has been going through the archives again and has found footage from what is thought to be the first (and only) demo featuring the OG Unabomber crew at Norwich’s long gone Bus Station Skatepark!

Some rare footage surfaced over the weekend of the mini ramp session at St Alban’s 1997 comp – see below for four minutes of unseen transitional shredding from the likes of Tom Penny, John Rattray, Mike Manzoori, Alan Rushbrooke, Chris Oliver and others.

Paul Silvester has been rummaging around in the archives again, coming correct with a solid edit of “Headcleaner”-era footage from the OG Unabomber crew. Some of the footage was used in their 2002 video, though some of it is unseen up until now.

Sunday Service: Jamie Turnbull’s “Wide Eyed World” (1993)

After Jamie Turnbull himself appeared on the Sidewalk Forum wondering if his 1993 independent UK classic “Wide Eyed World” had been posted online anywhere yet, Mark Nicolson took it upon himself step to the plate and used a rainy day to digitise the full video for the rest of the world to see.

In case you are unaware, clocking in at a little over fifteen minutes in length, Wide Eyed World is a pretty important homegrown history lesson from a time when it was almost an annual event that someone put out a UK video, and, if common lore is to be believed, then it is also one of the first (if not the first) entirely independent UK productions, released the year before Mike Manzoori’s “Sound and Vision” which we previously shared with you at the start of 2011.

Primarily made up of montages featuring plenty of the regular heads in the UK scene at the time, including the likes of Alan Rushbrooke, Mark Baines, Ali Cairns, Neil Urwin, Matt Harfield, Simon Skipp, Dan Magee, Luke McKirdy, Matt Pritchard, Danny Wainwright, Colin Kennedy, Carl Shipman and Dave Allen, Wide Eyed World can be located waiting for you right below this very text! Sunday Service: “Sound and Vision”

So here it is, the last Sunday Service of 2010, and what better way to end the year than by bringing you a full length, heavily sought after UK classic from the early 90′s?

“Sound and Vision” was one of Mike Manzoori’s first forays into the world of independent video production, following on from the 1991 London scene video “Bubblegum Weekend”, which was made as collaborative effort alongside Fraser Hamilton and Mark Channer.
Focussed on the scene in and around London and The South throughout the early 1990′s, “Sound and Vision” features plenty of otherwise unseen footage from Tom Penny, Mark Channer, Danny Wainwright, Carl Shipman, Matt Pritchard, Alan Rushbrooke, Alex Moul, Luke McKirdy, Andy Scott, Dave Allen and pretty much anyone else who happened to be passing through town. In addition to the heavy line up of UK heads, Mike also racked up footage from a variety of early Radlands and St Albans comps, which lead to appearances from visiting US pro’s including Mike Frazier, Jeremy Wray, Pat Duffy, Mike Crum and Danny Way, to name but a few.

Coming in at just shy of 40 minutes, I’m sure most will agree that this is a much better way to pass on part of your Boxing Day afternoon than dithering about scoffing leftovers from yesterday whilst catching up on Eastenders or Corrie or whatever.

Massive props are in order to both Mike Manzoori for allowing us to share his lesser seen UK gem with the world, and Mark Nicolson for all his hard work in making it happen and hooking the whole thing up – you’re both beasts of the highest order! Now go forth and enjoy – see you in 2011…
