Get your Christmas list back out and prepare to ask Santa for an additional present this year as Phil Evans has just released the special edition of his globe-trotting skate photography project Format Perspective!

The new version is comprised of the 128 page hardcover book and 63 minute DVD, along with six professionally produced prints (that’s one print for each of the featured photographers).

Volcom “On Yer Bike” – Lintell and Vile hit London.

During what was probably the final days of summer, Volcom riders Harry Lintell and Kris Vile headed out on an exploration of London skate spots using only the public cycle hire scheme (that’s Boris Bikes to you and me) for transport.

Kevin Parrott and Morph were on hand to film the pairs exploits, whilst Alex Irvine handled photographic duties for the full article which can be found in the pages of the latest Kingpin.

Anyway, get watching the sick clip below, then maybe take a bit of inspiration the next time you’re planning a skate trip to The Big Smoke…

Kingpin editor Alex Irvine joins Lennie Burmeister and Daniel May for the first “Locals Only” builders jam in Hannover, Germany, back in June this year, which saw them spend a solid week grafting away on a unique DIY creation.

Kingpin’s “100 Party” photo gallery now online!

Last week Kingpin celebrated the release of it’s 100th issue by hosting a suitably rowdy party at the ever familiar Wayward Gallery in East London.

Plenty of heads turned up to drink free booze with Alex and co, the first 100 framed covers were looted from the walls, and Sam Ashley snapped a whole load of photos to document the gathering – click on the assembled rabble below now to see what went on…

Div Adam – alternative “Savoir Faire” edit (2007)

So, Alex Irvine played a huge hand in getting Div Adam’s section together for Kevin Parrott and Ciaran O’Connor’s 2008 UK independent release “Savoir Faire”, and when he heard that the sections were all going online last month, he decided to recover and share the OG edit of Div’s section.

This edit was put together a full year ahead of the video getting released, and was only managed to be tracked down as a Quicktime preview, so the quality is far from HD or whatever.

If you’re at work or around people who don’t agree with strong obscenities or Necro’s misogynistic take on the world, you’d be best either watching this later or muting the volume…

The next of Kingpin’s “Set In Stone” DIY edits is now online, this time focusing on Sheffield’s heavily sessioned hidden concrete gem.

So after clearing out the vault of bonus features last week, this morning we start with the sharing of Kevin Parrott and Ciaran O’Connor’s 2008 independent UK video “Savoir Faire”.

Sunday Service: Div Adam – “Savoir Faire” bonus section (2008)

For those of you who might either be to young to remember, or might have somehow missed out on its release, “Savoir Fair” is the 2008 independent UK production from Kevin Parrott and Ciaran O’Connor. With full sections from Div Adam, John Tanner, Ste Roe, Dave Snaddon and Chris Oliver, and appearances from literally countless other heads from all over the UK, Europe and elsewhere, the idea behind the project was to bring together a bunch of our island’s underexposed talent for one all encompassing 40 minute release.

Having been firmly in the collections of UK skate video enthusiasts for a good few years now, Kevin and Ciaran have decided to share the video with the rest of the world for free, uploading one section a day all next week, starting tomorrow with Div Adam’s opening four minutes of Carluke barbarianism.

To get you in the mood for a full week of Savoir Faire visual fodder, we decided to dedicate this weeks Sunday Service to Div and his epic six minute bonus edit made up of park and comp footage, clips from camping trips, mini motorbike daftness and stuff from a variety of web edits that came out around the same time. The section was originally destined for a 2008 Anti Hero/DLX catalogue, but was dropped at the last minute, winding up instead on the Savoir Faire bonus features.

The first of Kingpin’s “Set in Stone” video’s that tie in with their current DIY issue is now online, featuring Jan Kliewer, Lennie Burmeister, Eniz Fazliov, Rob Maatman, Hirschi, Vincent Coupeau and Rob Smith getting their hands dirty and shredding some homemade concrete in Berlin.

Kingpin’s “Set In Stone: A DIY Project” trailer

Late last year, Alex and co at Kingpin joined forces with Emerica Footwear and Carhartt Clothing in order to bring you “Set In Stone: A DIY Project”, which saw the Kingpin crew engage full on grafter mode and greatly contribute to DIY playgrounds across Italy, England, Germany and Finland.

Kingpin’s full DIY issue (Issue 98) should be in stores soon, with a series of exclusive DIY videos going live on the Kingpin site shortly after.
