The people behind the annual Bright Tradeshow are all set to unveil their all new international pro and am contest at this years event – The Bright Ship Wreck!

From 7pm on July 4th, an industrial barge will be transformed into a skateable transition which will then be sessioned by a collection of notable heads from all over the world.

Well it’s that time of year again where Kingpin Mag are giving you, the public, the chance to vote for the Kingpin Readers’ European Skater of the Year.

In their own words – “It’s going to be a tough call with all the amazing skateboarding that’s gone down over the last 12months. The award will be given to the winner at the annual Bright European Skateboard Awards along with the industry voted categories.”

Sony Xperia and Element’s “Make It Count” Wildcard.

For this years Make It Count contest series, Element teamed up with Sony Xperia to provide one lucky human from the European finals in Berlin with a Wildcard opportunity to head over to California for the world finals alongside the overall European winner. Element representatives Todd Larson, Levi Brown, Evan Smith and Cole Mathews were all flown to Berlin with the task of picking the Wildcard for Sony Experia, and after a solid afternoon of shredding the course, it was Rasmus Salcin who found himself awarded with the trip to The States.

Not only did Sony Xperia hook up Rasmus with the chance to enter the world finals, they also sorted out each of the European finalists with an all new Smartphone too.

So last week we brought you the clip that showed various Element Skateboards representatives traveling to Germany and handpicking Rasmus Saclin to represent Sony Xperia’s “Wildcard” entrant into the worldwide Make It Count finals – click here to give it a watch.

Anyhow, watch on below to see what happened when the Xperia crew met up with Rasmus on home turf in Stockholm to cruise a few street spots and hit up a couple of parks…

And this final clip is made up of footage from the Make It Count finals in LA with Rasmus and the rest of the international winners, shot entirely on the Sony Xperia smartphone…

Lost Art and Palace win big at the Bright “European Skate Awards 2011″

The UK claimed a well earned portion of the trophies at the 2011 Bright “European Skate Awards” on Friday night, with Mackey and Ash deservedly taking the award for “European Skate Shop of the Year” back to Liverpool, and Palace scooping the “Brand of the Year” award.
