To coincide with yesterdays release of the latest Monster Network video “Twenty”, Channon King has come through with a whole bunch of still photography he gathered whilst filming was underway.

Monster Network “Twenty” – full Essex scene video here!

The latest Monster Network production is here! Russ Cowling, along with filming assistance from Channon King, has come through with a 24 minute voyage into the Essex scene in the form of “Twenty”. Instead of releasing this one on DVD, Russ has decided to pass it on to us, to exclusively share with you lot completely free of charge!

As with previous Monster Network productions, Twenty features a solid soundtrack, a pleasant mixture of Super8 and VX footage, and plenty of newness from the likes of Sam Juner, Simon Burlo, Macy Peach, Nick Remon, Frank Stephens, Channon King, Carl Wilson, Dave Watson, Veran Tull, Danny Jack, Adam Howe and Dave Davies, alongside cameos from plenty of other East Anglian faces.

Sunday Service: Channon King – “Ex-Rental” (1999)

It’s been said before in previous Sunday Service’s, but it’s worth repeating again that Channon King was easily one of the most underrated UK heads of the mid 90s to early 2000s, appearing alongside Frank Stephens in plenty of East Anglia scene videos, including ‘Tough Guys’, ‘Grow Up’ and ‘Ex-Rental’, racking up a couple of Sidewalk covers and plenty of mag coverage along the way. Channon eventually landed himself a long overdue spot on Blueprint throughout the ‘Waiting for the World/Belong Tour’ era, before retiring himself from sponsored skateboarding due to reoccurring injuries. With a solid as you like style, a deep trick bag and a tendency to skate God-awful spots like no-one else, it was a shame to see Channon drop off the coverage radar so quickly.

Those who pay attention to quality scene productions in this country will already know that Channon is fully back skating again, as his brief appearance in the Monster Network’s video ‘Never Forever’ (2008) indicated, which was swiftly followed by a full part in the 2010 MN production ‘In Between Days’. As I type this, Russ Cowling is working on the next Monster Network project, so fingers crossed we should be seeing some more up to date Channon footage soon enough.

Channon King has been on a bit of a filming tip lately, putting together a short montage filmed at several parks across Ipswich with appearances from the likes of Adam Howe, Paul Roe, Chris Crabtree and Robo Thunders, with the first sighting in a long time of Franklin Stephens!

Long time filming enthusiast and driving force behind The Harmony, Adam Mondon, has set up a new Vimeo account to run alongside the existing The Harmony one, intended as a way for him to share the countless full videos that he’s either been involved with or produced over the years, alongside rare clips and other random East Anglia footage that’s currently sat gathering dust in the archives.

At the minute Adam has already uploaded an edit of Channon King’s trip to SF and Berkly in March 2000 whilst filming for Blueprint Skateboards classic “Waiting For The World” (see underneath) and the full 2005 Hoax Skateshop video “Outlines”, featuring lesser seen footage from the likes of Chewy Cannon, Neil Smith, Adam Howe, Tom Lock, Dan Leech and plenty of others.
