Over the weekend, Ben, Chris and Sam were over in Amsterdam for this years Vans “Downtown Showdown” event, which saw obstacles designed by Flip, Blueprint, Antiz and Palace get annihilated by heads from literally all over the world.

We know edits have been doing the rounds since Saturday, but see below for Ben’s footage from the Westergasfabriek, featuring unseen bangers and alternative angles with Ben Nordberg, Rob Smith, Tom Penny, Luan Oliveira, Kris Vile, Paul Shier, Sylvain Tognelli, Tom Knox, Rory Milanes and others.

If you haven’t been able to make the journey to Amsterdam for this years Vans “Downtown Showdown” event, fear not, as Vans have set up a live webcast that’s streaming right now and will be bringing you all the action from the Westergasfabriek over the course of the afternoon.

The obstacles designed by Flip, Palace, Blueprint and Antiz will be getting a serious session from riders who have come from all over the world as they battle it out for their share of the 50,000 Euro in prize money on offer. Already spotted warming up on the webcast are Lucien Clarke, Tom Penny, Olly Todd, Luan Oliveira, Nassim, Cian Eades and others.

It’s merely a fortnight until Vans epic “Downtown Showdown” event is set to take over Amsterdam, and, as such, updated info keeps on rolling in.

Firstly, Steve Caballero is going to be in town to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the Half Cab, with Lance Dawes’ “Twenty” exhibition opening at the Westergasfabriek, John Cardiel taking to the decks for a DJ set and Ray Barbee playing a spot of live music. The exhibition opens to the public at 5pm on August 2nd so be sure to check it out if you get chance.

Two days later on August 4th, the main Downtown Showdown will kick off at the Westergasfabriek, with heads from all over the world battling it out for their share of the 50,000 Euro in prize money on offer, with jams taking place on 4 one-of-a-kind obstacles that have been designed by Palace, Flip, Blueprint and Antiz.

In addition to the main comp, the day will also play host to stalls from local skateshops, a Lovenskate screenprinting stand, Van Doren serving up waffles, art workshops, info on Skatepark Amsterdam’s fight against eviction and plenty more besides.
