Wheels and Fins festival returns! 12th-15th September – Broadstairs, Kent.

The Wheels and Fins festival is back, and is shaping up to be bigger and better for 2013. Dates are 12th-15th September on Joss Bay Beach in Broadstairs, Kent.

This year there will be a huge mini ramp supplied by King Ramps with a pro/sponsored prize purse and MC abuse from Churchell. Band line ups will be announced shortly but Serious Sam Barrett is already confirmed, and expect some interesting guest DJ slots too!

Don’t forget about the epic soapbox race carnage – everyone is invited to get building. Be warned though, you’ll need motorbike leathers and a crash helmet to race!

The first annual “Wheels and Fins” festival took over Joss Beach in Broadstairs last weekend, with a mini ramp, slalom longboard event, soap box derby, live bands and plenty of booze.

Check the highlights edit underneath now, featuring Greg Nowik, Jed Cullen, Marc Churchill, some epic soap box crashes, downhill madness and Kent style ravers.

This weekend, Joss Bay in Broadstairs,Kent, plays host to the first evet Wheels and Fins Festival. The event will include a mini ramp on the beach with a “tricks for beers” jam (hosted by MC Marc Churchill) alongside live music from decent local bands as well as some comical cover bands – namely The LA Doors and The Fool Fighters. The beach bar tent will be serving from 10am till Midnight both days, and the weather is set to be very nice, which is obviously a bonus!

There will also be skateboard slalom and downhill demos and races on the adjacent hill. Other activities include stand up paddle board racing, raft racing and what’s shaping up to be the comedy highlight of the weekend – a home made soap box derby.

The best thing is that it’s all free, so get down and enjoy what could be the last weekend of summer!
