The first annual “Wheels and Fins” festival took over Joss Beach in Broadstairs last weekend, with a mini ramp, slalom longboard event, soap box derby, live bands and plenty of booze.

This weekend, Joss Bay in Broadstairs,Kent, plays host to the first evet Wheels and Fins Festival. The event will include a mini ramp on the beach with a “tricks for beers” jam (hosted by MC Marc Churchill) alongside live music from decent local bands as well as some comical cover bands – namely The LA Doors and The Fool Fighters. The beach bar tent will be serving from 10am till Midnight both days, and the weather is set to be very nice, which is obviously a bonus!

There will also be skateboard slalom and downhill demos and races on the adjacent hill. Other activities include stand up paddle board racing, raft racing and what’s shaping up to be the comedy highlight of the weekend – a home made soap box derby.

The best thing is that it’s all free, so get down and enjoy what could be the last weekend of summer!

Nike SB and Grey – “The Edition” now online!

A couple of months back, Nike SB and Grey Skateboard Magazine unveiled their special, one off collaborative broadsheet project “The Edition”, which focused on the various exploits of the UK Nike SB team and friends. The paper was available for free from a wide range of skate shops all around the country, though if you missed out on grabbing a physical copy for one reason or another, Grey have just posted both the newspaper and accompanying supplement on their site.
