French Fred continues to offload the wealth of rare footage he gathered with the Flip Skateboards team whilst out filming for their seminal release “Sorry”, as he unearths another “Classic” clip in the form of two and half minutes worth of mainly unseen Tom Penny street footage!

This is some seriously shocking (in the best way) eye-fodder from a point in time where pretty much all Tom footage was kept well and truly under wraps as Fred worked towards finishing off Flip’s debut offering.

Ahead of the weekends Vans “Downtown Showdown” carnage in London, Cliché Skateboards will be holding an exhibition for the release of their latest book of French Fred photography, “Hand in Hand”.

Head down to the Wayward Gallery this coming Thursday at 6:30pm to view a variety of photography from the book, consume free beer and vodka and have your ears blessed by a selection of tunage from Lev and the PWBC.

Sunday Service: “Kenobeds” – full Liverpool scene video (2001/2002)

To coincide with the epic Liverpool scene article that can be found occupying a large chunk of the latest issue of the mag, Ash Wilson from Lost Art Skateshop has hooked us up with a copy of the infamous yet super rare 2001/2001 Liverpool scene video “Kenobeds” to share with the world. Featuring never before seen footage from the likes of Mackey, Ash Wilson, Howard Cooke, John Dalton, Kingy, Joel O’Connor and plenty of others, Kenobeds was only produced in two runs of 50 and mainly circulated amongst friends, meaning copies of it barely left Liverpool.

Ash tracked down “French” Fred Bezombes, the man responsible for the creation of Kenobeds, to get a few words on the video…

“Kenobeds was a never meant to be a real video. I started filming my friends every now and then as a memento of my time in Liverpool. I had very little footage as we were more busy skating and having fun than filming. One day I dislocated my foot so I knew I wouldn’t be able to skate for a long time as it kept popping in and out of place.

Spring was there and summer was coming so I went out to skate spots to hang out and I started filming a lot for something to do. I decided to get at least one clip of every single one of my friends; some people managed a few clips, some have one trick, some were killing it. My foot slowly healed and I was able to film some clips too. I know since then a lot of us went different ways, I’ve lost touch with most people in Kenobeds but every time I think of that video it brings back good memories from my old friends and it will always put a smile on my face. And to all my friends from that era, thank you for the good times.” – “French” Fred Bezombes, 2011.

French Fred’s unseen Flip Skateboards “Extremely Sorry” trailer

Between 2006 and 2008, French Fred was working on a trailer for Flip Skateboard’s “Extremely Sorry” at Geoff Rowley’s Arizona retreat, though the finished clip has been sat aging in the darkest corner of a hard-drive ever since due to obvious eventual team changes.
