Snow put a stop to Callun Loomes and Kris Vile’s hopes of Brummy street heroics yesterday, so they retired to the shelter of the Ideal miniramp to bring you this clip instead.

Ideal Skateshop in Birmingham have just unveiled a fully loaded gallery area within their new store! The previously blank wall was screaming out for something to adorn it, and Kris, Bob and Zippy haven’t disappointed.

The gallery features the photographic work of Sidewalk photographers highlighting a cross-section of some of the most remembered shots of Birmingham skateboarders published in the magazine from the mid 1990′s up right up to the present day. Contributing photographers include Wig Worland, Sam Ashley, Leo Sharp and Chris Johnson, with classic skating from Vaughan Baker, Simon Peplow, Richard ‘Benny’ Hughes, Bob Sanderson, Kris Vile and many more.

Be sure to pop in to the shop and take a look at this display of Brummy history first hand – keep an eye on the wall for updates too, as the plan is to add to the gallery in the future with other classics, and possibly a couple of photos that have yet to be shot…

Following it’s temporary relocation thanks to last summers riots in Birmingham, Ideal Skateshop has moved to a new, more suitable space in the Custard Factory and can now be found occupying units 12-13 Gibb Square, which are “twice the size and ten times as shiny”, to quote Kris.

Check CJ’s snaps from the new space below – click the pics to enlarge – then drop by the next time you’re in town to pay the boys a visit.

An official opening event is currently being planned to coincide with the relaunch of the ramp.

Gnargore “Bagels and Beers: City of Twats” blog cam action!

Tom Gillespie, Ross McCabe, Luke McManus and Birmingham’s OG Gnargore crew have pieced together a nine minute long exploration into the Brum blog cam unknown, entitled “Bagels and Beers: City of Twats” and featuring skating and lurking from the streets of the Black Country, the Ideal mini, S’Town’s Multi Story (RIP) and beyond.

Following their looting in last Monday nights riots, Birmingham’s Ideal Skate Store is now back up and running in a temporary location elsewhere in the Custard Factory.

Kris, Zippy, Bob and the rest of the Ideal mob can now be found occupying the unit at 7 Gibb Street, so make sure to pop by and show some support the next time you’re passing through town. Also, the Ideal website has been updated with all remaining stock, so if you can’t make it to the shop in person, feel free to make a couple of purchases online instead.
