“The Gasworks”, Joe Gavin’s 30 minute documentary about the legendary Manchester skate spot, has finally surfaced online!

Mixing interviews with a wide variety of locals, unseen, infamous and rare skate footage and detailing other aspects of Gasworks life such as the graffiti artists and lurkers that made the place what it was, Joe paints a pretty complete picture of the Gasworks from 1997 to the present day.

Set aside half hour of your day and get watching below – with archival radness from Joe Gavin, Nick Stansfield, Eddie Belvedere, Ben Grove, Olly Tyreman, James Gardner, Matthew Nevitt and countless other heads from Manchester and beyond…

Relentless Short Stories – Ben Nordberg’s “Flight of Passage” by James Gardner

As you might have seen whilst flicking through the Folklore pages of the newest mag, James Gardner recently paired up with Ben Nordberg to work on their submission for the 2010 Relentless “Short Stories” film-making competition.

Well, James and Ben’s entry “Flight of Passage” is now online, combining James’ distinctive intertwining of HD footage and Super8 film, some trademark nonchalance from Ben, and a personal narrative bringing the whole piece together from the Beta Band’s very own Steve Mason.

For James’ take on the project, consult the aforementioned interview in the current issue of the mag, and be sure to hit up the Relentless site to check out all of this years other submissions.

Powley’s “Downtown Showdown” snapshots

Vans UK TM Nic Powley was out in Hamburg at the weekend for the 2010 European Vans “Downtown Showdown”. When not presumably bragging to German MILFs about his Porsche collection or sinking his own body weight in free whiskey, Powley shot a bunch of snapshots for us to share with you. Well, here they are – have a scope at this years obstacles, plus get the heads up on some next level steez from James Gardner and Danny Wainwright!
