James Coyle has put together a short atmospheric clip from the “Retrospective” art show that took place in the North East over a couple of days back in February, celebrating the life and art of Dean “Cleveland Bod” Brodrick, as well as paying respect to the infamous Mischief Skatestore and Steven “Bingo” Binks.

Last weekend saw the hugely anticipated Dean “Bod” Brodrick “Retrospective” exhibition hit Teeside, displaying videos, skateboard graphics, teeshirts and various other projects that Bod was involved with over the years, as well as honouring Mischief Skateshop and Bingo.

The closing party took place on Saturday night, and Ronnie Calow has posted up a selection of photos from the bash over on the Sheffield Black Wallets blog.

“Retrospective” is an Art Show put together by friends detailing the work of our good friend Dean ‘Cleveland Bod’ Brodrick, showing videos, skateboard graphics, teeshirts and various other projects he was involved with during his life, also showing our respect to the infamous Mischief Skatestore and Bingo – come down, have a look around, reflect and smile!

Opening times are Wed 15th – Fri 17th 10am – 5pm at the Pop Up Gallery (see above flyer for the address).
Saturday 18th 10am – 10pm

Closing party 7pm – 10pm Saturday 18th

RIP Dean “Bod” Brodrick

The entire skateboarding world suffered another massive blow yesterday, with the passing of North East legend, skateboard video maker, graphic designer, friend, father and flip technician, Dean “Bod” Brodrick.

Through the mid 90′s Bod could regularly be found in the pages of RAD and Sidewalk, boggling minds with a variety of ultra tech flip variations. Over the years his love for the North East scene has resulted in the creation of several infamous “Joybus” scene videos which helped shed much needed light on a lot of emerging talent from the area, and his graphic design work has seen him produce board graphics and artwork for companies such as Girl, Chocolate, Real, Death, Ekta, Stereo, Mischief, Native, and most recently, Fabric.

Our condolances and thoughts are with all of Bod’s family and friends, as well as the entire North East scene.
