Sunday Service – Paul Silvester “Sub C-Y” (1998)

Paul Silvester has been going back through a load of his old VHS tapes and stumbled across his rare as you like section from Toby Batchelor’s 1998 independent video “Sub C-Y”.

Filmed during the early days of Unabomber, this part sees Man hitting up various spots throughout Leeds city center and the nearby university, during the same period where he was also filming for “Viewfinder 1″ (1998) and “Unapromo” (1998).

What does “Sub C-Y” mean exactly? The most common theory is that it’s an abbreviation of “Sub Chocolate Yawn”.

Following on from our Ben Grove “In Motion” Sunday Service at the weekend, an edit of old Paul Silvester footage has just surfaced online, featuring a whole load if unseen northern business gathered whilst filming for the last Sidewalk video back around 2004.

A few clips from this edit were used in Paul’s “In Motion” section, a couple of bits appeared in the Unabomber video “Up The Rebels”, but a lot of it remains unseen.

After a long, long period without one, Leeds has finally got its very own Skater Owned Shop, in the form of “Welcome”, which is run by a collection of deeply connected West Yorkshire heads. The opening shindig kicked off in Leeds on Friday night, with the grand (and presumably hungover) opening of the store taking place yesterday morning.

This is obviously a severely overdue necessity for a scene as large and as prominent as the one housed in Leeds, so make sure you go spend some cash in Welcome the next time you’re in town. Props to all involved, now go support!

To tie in with the opening of the shop, Paul ‘Man’ Silvester has dug out an unseen section of ‘Welcome’ family member Tom Brown, filmed in and around the Leeds area across 2004!

It Takes Tea: The Radworx Mini Comp edit!

Paul Silvester held a BBQ/mini ramp jam at the Radworx TF the weekend before last, raising £200 on the day to go towards the upkeep and upgrading of the set up. Despite the Livi Fun Day running the day before and taking a fair few heads down, plenty of keen Scotsmen made the trek to Blantyre, including Kerr, Shezz, Dunder, Adam Paris, Aarom Wilmot, Emily Russell and others.
