The Neil Smith Big Push – Smithy and Benson hit the road…

What with Nike taking a year out of their Big Push run and Smithy’s commitments to the annual CPH Pro event, 2012 was all set to become the first year that Neil Smith missed out on going on The Big Push. So what did we do to remedy the situation? We obviously bundled this month’s cover boy into a run down VW Golf and carted him around the country on his own slightly belated Big Push style week long mission.

Despite the awful weather and bizarre mid week injuries, Smithy and special guest Benson headed out East and then West from London, hitting cities, spots and parks along the way, finishing up in Newcastle at the end of an amusing seven day trek.

Having been involved every year since Document kicked the whole thing off back in 2005, 2012 was looking like it was to be the first year that Neil Smith missed out on doing The Big Push, so we decided to take him on his own Big Push mission a couple of weeks after everyone else, hitting up spots all over the country and meeting up with friends along the way.

The first installment of Shiner Distribution’s bi-weekly “Pixels” video-magazine is now online, featuring a variety of Shiner backed humans getting busy all over the UK and Marc Churchill once again assuming the role of presenter.

For part 1, Alan Glass follows the Mob Grip crew on a “Lost Weekend” of concrete carnage out East, and pieces together a hefty montage featuring Rune Glifberg, Greyson Fletcher, Curren Caples, Lance Mountain, Jess Young, Caradog, Dan “Chav Dan” Hill and a host of others.
