“101 Skateboards” exhibition launch – Nation of Shopkeepers, this Weds!

No, Natas’ legendary company is not back from the grave, but “101 Skateboards”, the project of Welcome family member and Leeds resident Geordie type Melissa Farnie, will be on show at Nation of Shopkeepers, Leeds, this coming Wednesday.

Making use of snapped, old and battered decks, “101 Skateboards” will be on display in the bar all night, alongside Sidewalk approved band Best Friends who will be playing live as part of the launch party for the new issue of Vice Magazine.

Welcome Skateshop’s 1st Birthday Party – July 16th, Leeds.

Welcome Skateshop in Leeds is celebrating its first birthday on Friday July 16th, so if you’re planning on being in town you might as well head on over to Nation Of Shopkeepers from 9pm and join in the festivities.

Entry is free until 10pm, with live music from Serious Sam Barrett and Ngod, DJ sets from No Bones and Dirty Otter, and the premiere of Rory McKenzie’s Leeds video “Dayzed and Confused”.

‘Welcome’ – new SOS for Leeds. Opening info and party details.

After a long, long time without one, several seriously connected Leeds skate heads have teamed up to open a new SOS called ‘Welcome’.

The shop will be opening on July 10th in the basement of Crash Records on the Headrow, so the night before A Nation Of Shopkeepers are holding a massive party to celebrate it’s launch, with live music from Serious Sam and The Magnificant, DJ’s all night, free booze, skate films, stickers and testosterone.

Obviously this will be an Over 18s gathering, but if you’re in town or fancy a night out in Leeds then get on the case, then go buy some gear from the shop the following day!
