“Conhuir and the volcano: no one is entirely sure what this thing is. It’s either the remaining half of one of the oldest pieces of custom built skateboard terrain in Northern Ireland, or it’s nothing more than a plant pot surreptitiously filled by some have a go heroes at some point in the distant past of Derry skate time. Regardless of its mysterious origins, this is a spot steeped in history that hasn’t been seen in a skate mag this side of the water since Wurzel and the Deathbox team ventured there for an aborted skate comp back in the later 1980′s with TLB of RAD Magazine. Deep in the Loyalist hood, surrounded by prying eyes and UDA murals, Conhuir Lynn lets his light shine nearly two decades later. Frontside kickflip.”

The last few years have seen Ulster youth Denis Lynn get snapped up by Superdead, Vans, Indy, Bones and Lost Art, though back in 2008, he was completely sponsorless having just started skating again after an extended hiatus playing Gaelic Football. In fact, if memory serves correct, the photo that should be waiting for you in your inbox was shot during a brief visit to Dublin in April 2008 on his brothers board after only four months of skating.

That’s just how the MonkeyBird rolls.
