Long before Pritchard was known as one of the “Dirty Sanchez” founders or half of the infamous “Pritchard vs Dainton” duo, the Welsh beast could be founding holding down a pro spot on Panic Skateboards along with other Panic pro’s of the time Paul Shier and Colin Kennedy, as well as dominating comps across the UK and racking up a serious amount of coverage in the early pages of the mag.

Having already closed the first joint Panic and Blueprint video “A Mixed Media” in 1996, it was on Pritchard to open their follow up, the much sought after classic “Anthems”, in 1998. Here’s an oddity from the history books of British skateboarding – OG Panic riders Matt Pritchard, John Cattle and Colin Kennedy earn themselves a trophy on the now defunct Saturday night TV show “You Bet” back in 1996.

Copies of this show have been floating around for years now on dodgy VHS tapes, but this is the first time this legendary segment has appeared online – props to Denny for hooking it up!

It’s almost been exactly a year since we last honoured the skating of Rob Selley in the Sunday Service, so we thought we’d delve back into the archives and bring you another slice of certified Selley gold, this time from the very first Blueprint/Panic VHS “A Mixed Media”, released fifteen years back in 1996.

Sunday Service: John Rattray

Two years before the release of the seminal “Waiting For The World”, and three years before he would part ways with Blueprint and set his sights firmly Stateside with Zero, Aberdeen native John Rattray could be found trekking around the UK as part of the Panic/Blueprint crew working on what would become his first national section on their second video “Anthems” – laying it down on Scottish concrete, in Cornish parks, at street spots everywhere from London to Aberdeen, and with the odd bit of vert thrown into the mix where possible, literally defining the term “ATV”.

Whilst most of John’s early sections have managed to find their way online over the years, his Anthems part has managed to remain somewhat overlooked until this morning. Twelve years after its original release, we’ve decided to dust off the well worn Anthems VHS and digitise this 2 minute 40 seconds rare chunk of Rattray all terrain business to share with you lucky lot.

I was listening to “Time’s Up” by O.C earlier today so thought I’d post up Colin Kennedy’s section from the Blueprint classic “Waiting For The World”, but couldn’t find it on it’s own online. Instead, here’s Colin’s part from the debut Blueprint/Panic release “A Mixed Media”, released on VHS back in 1995.
