R1′s “Free Skate Day 2012″ – all edits now live!

All of the edits from last Monday’s Route One “Free Skate Day 2012″ are now online and ready to be watched below. Check the clips from Leeds, Colchester, Belfast, Glasgow, Mount Hawke and Hemel Hempstead, featuring Conhuir Lynn, Doug McLaughlan, Andy Makepeace, Nicky Howells, Joe Lynksey, Benson and the rest of the R1 team.

Public voting for the official clips has gone live on the R1 Facebook, with the video that racks up the most votes before Friday earning its local park £1,000 towards development. Get on the case and support your local establishment!

Following the success of last years “Free Skate Day”, Route One have joined forces with DC Shoes and even more indoor establishments all over the UK to give skateboarders free skatepark entry on Monday April 2nd!

As with the previous round of “Free Skate Day” events, there will be free entry, jams, prizes and members of the R1 team in attendance at each of the parks.

Check the poster below for a list of the participating parks, then get yourself along to your nearest park on the day and get involved!

Last Monday, 24th October, Route One hosted their first “R1 Free Skate Day” at five of the UK’s finest indoor skateparks, giving free entry all day exclusively to skateboarders.

Each of the parks had R1 team riders present, as well as their very own appointed filmers. Edits from each of the parks are now online, so head on over to the R1 site now to give them a watch, then vote for your favourite entry over on the R1 Facebook page. Hit the link in the Menu bar called “Questions” to cast your vote. The park footage with the most votes will win £1000 towards park improvements.

Voting closes at midday today so get in quick!

Route One’s “Free Skate Day” – October 24th. Updated info!

As we mentioned previously on the site, Route One have teamed up with a bunch of indoor establishments across the country to give skateboarders 100% free skatepark entry this coming Monday, October 24th!

Thanks to contributions from Zoo York, Baker, Destructo Trucks, Hubba Wheels, Death Skateboards, Fabric, Almost, Element, Plan B, Autobahn, Theeve, Lakai Footwear, Vans, Chocolate, Fallen, Mystery and Route One, there will be £2,000 worth of giveaways at each of the five parks on the day, as well as R1 team riders on hand and a video making competition to earn your local park £1,000 worth of upgrades.

The appointed R1 riders and filmers for each park are as follows:

The Works, Leeds. Skaters – Conhuir Lynn and Josh “Manhead” Young. Filmer – Alex Winstanley.
The Boardroom, Leicester. Skaters – Avid and Joe Lynskey. Filmer – Callun Loomes.
Mount Hawke, Cornwall. Skaters – Nicky Howells and Dave Snaddon. Filmer – Matt Hunt.
Bay 66, London. Skaters -Amir Williams and Benson. Filmer – Matt King.
Pioneer, St Albans. Skaters – Andy Coleman, Josh and Dan. Filmer - Matt Farman.
