The wait to see the results of the 2012 Big Push is almost over – a few more weeks and you’ll be able to marvel at the ridiculous skateboarding that went down during the annual seven day countrywide mission. From what we’ve seen and heard, the chosen teams from Emerica, Osiris, adidas, Vans and DC have seriously upped the ante this time around; 2012 could very well be the gnarliest Big Push to date.

No spoilers are to be found here I’m afraid, but it’s definitely not a secret that Nick Remon was on board for the third year in a row with Nic Powley’s Vans crew, so you can probably imagine that he managed to commit some utter daftness to film. Check out his first section ever, taken from Russ Cowling’s Monster Network video “In Between Days”, which was released in early 2010, a whole 18 months before Nick’s next section on “In Progress”…

Sidewalk 191: Flip Skateboards in the UK – Extension part 1.

Earlier this summer (used in the loosest sense of the term) a collection of the Flip Skateboards rabble descended upon the UK for a brief 36 hour stint, taking in the much publicised demo at Hemel Hempstead and a day of attacking concrete found around London in-between rainstorms.

The crew included Tom Penny, Ben Nordberg, Rune Glifberg, Luan Oliveira, Louie Lopez, Curren Caples, Greyson Fletcher and Lance Mountain, alongside Ian Deacon, Jeremy Fox and various other friends and family types.

As you’ll have seen if you’ve picked up the latest issue of the mag, Chris Johnson was on the case as ever and has come through with another two part “Extension”, made up of unused photos and behind the scenes style shots from the mission. Browse Part 1 below now then check back tomorrow for more…

We headed over to Tottenham to get the last of the days sunlight, but were obviously greeted by rain. Tom hyped on his new whip. One time Flip TM Harry and young Curren Caples - both stoked to not be in the van. Morph was hyped on a mental few hours in the sun filming Rom getting destroyed. Off to Saffron Walden then... Water drained, final checks that the cover is safely in place and we're back in business. Well, it has been the wettest summer on record. Dion stepped in and sorted out the rising water situation... Lance warmed up, casting some classic shadows beneath him. Curren getting geared up for a heavy session at Romford. The skatepark is more than twice his age...

Aaron Sweeney headed up to Saffron Walden to do a bit of test shooting for an idea with a couple of the Volcom lot…
Shot with the 5D stereo rig, posted with Neo3D and FCP. 3D shot, edited and graded by Tom Rochester and it all looks great.
Theres a wee Alex Lally cameo, too.
