Frank Stephens – Cliché ‘Bon Appetit’ (2003)

Following his split from Unabomber in their post-Headcleaner days, Frank Stephens found himself briefly riding for Cliché as their first UK based representative. He didn’t ride for them for too long in hindsight, but he did manage to score the final bit of footage on their 2003 release, the seminal ‘Bon Apetit’.And, online for the first time, here it is! Benson is no exception. Loves concrete,- the bigger, rougher, harder to skate and scarier the terrain the more he likes it.
In fact I swear the gnarlier the obstacle the better he can skate it.
Bit of background info… A lot of this stuff was made first go, do or die. Which is no joke considering how burly some of these spots are. And the craziness near the end of the section in the old Stevenage halfpipe (lipslide revert etc WTF!?) was on a freezing, damp night after a very boozy premiere!” – Nick Zorlac.

This shows in his video part, and is especially demonstrated by his ender which was really gnarly, let alone getting it done the day after Rob Smith’s turning pro party (heavy night!) and just a couple of hours kip on a skatepark floor.” – Nick Zorlac.

This past weekend saw War of the Thistles take over the Scottish skate scene for two days of indoor skateboarding carnage!

“Zarosh was injured for a long time when we were filming this. But the extended deadline worked out well and so we get to see him creating as well as annihilating concrete in various parts of the world on this section. I like the fact that his Dad has skate footage in there, and the track he is skating to is by Tornado Rider which his brother is in. (Go and see them if you get the chance!).” – Nick Zorlac.

Yet as you would expect from such a solid and dependable chap, he has taken them in his stride and like a good wine his skating has just got better with age. He has recovered from knee surgery and adapted to the terrain in his new home Atlanta like a duck to water which means we get this sun and concrete filled section.
