Trade shows are rad! Summer is over... Bummer. Spot check? Where's Fred Gall when you need him? If this doesn't put a smile on your face, nothing will. Get there while you can. Dean Palmer turned up at the house all the way from Sydney and slept off his Jet lag. Dave Chesson is a true legend. If you don't believe me, just ask Pete King. Here he is helping to brighten up my summer with Mark Brewster in tow at an art show. 'UK Champs' pretty much put a wrap on summer, but not with out a giggle in the hotel bar; Dainton poses with two fans while Dickfingers ruins the shot. James Vooght, TM extraordinair pretends to be short for the benefit of my camera and some well known she borders.

1. I spent a fair bit of time with this maniac over the summer, which turned out to be a lot of fun. Rob Smith is a good friend and a fine skateboarder, just don't get him drunk. 2. And here we have a picture of the American Rob Smith playing a gig in Kentish town. U.S. Bombs, July 2011. 3. This guy plays bass in Steak's band 'Mean Steed' and strangely he got my name tattooed on his arse at a party. 4. I know it's hard to believe, but this is actually a real tattoo. 5. This photo was printed in the mag already, but just look at how epic it is! If i ever start a gangsta rap group, i'm using this as my album cover for sure. 6. This photo is priceless! "Chris Pulman knows the streets." 7. A bone dry empty pool on the isle of Capri, unfortunately it was square. "Win some, lose some".

1. I had a lot of fun at Stockwell this summer, mainly because Craig Questions was always there... 10. You can usually find Fos and Tamsin at a skater art show. This particular one on the night before "Downtown Showdown" was no exception. 2. Watch out though, he is easily excited... 3. Oh dear... 4. Whoops. 5. Copenhagen went off!!! 6. we had a really good session at this pool with my mate Martin Ellis. Check out his zine 'Cruel Mistress' if you get the chance. 7. Of course we've been taking filming for the new Death video very seriously and there hasn't been any horsing around. 8. Muska got in a spot of bother for loving art just a little bit too much. 9. And speaking of art...

Being the avid photographer that he is, Death Skateboards pro Dan Cates has racked up a whole load of snapshots over the course of the summer, so has decided to share with you some of the finer slices of what his trusty point n’ shoot has managed to capture!

10. However, a trip to Southend the following week didn't turn out to be quite as eventful... 11. Bristol the week after was a definite step in the right direction though. 2. Then, as if by magic, Zarosh turned up and built a pool in our friend Dick's back garden. 3. He then insisted that we all go to Shiner for an archeological dig of sorts through what is left of the fabled "80's room..." 4. Rip grip, Tracker "Six Track's", Bullet's, Kryptonics "Slammers"...it was like Christmas Day 1989 all over again. Good call Zarosh! 5. Zorlac went to work on the last pile of Madrid decks... 6. And Joe Habgood drove around in his fork lift truck. 7. Myself and Steak are pretty big fans of the band Journey, so when they played Wembley with Styx and Foreigner back in June we were in there like swim wear. 8. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! CatesSummer1-9. When Chris Cole's song from "Dying To Live" came on, the place went nuts. F**k yeah!

“On our last day in Rio we headed to the Favela to skate a concrete mini ramp – it’s the same one Bob skates in the Brazil issue of 411 about ten years ago. The Favela’s are illegal settlements on the steep hills on the edge of Rio run by drugs gangs where the police don’t dare go. Amazing place, amazing people, the only unsettling thing was seeing guys riding round on the back of motorbikes with massive AK47′s. Especially when Bozza decided to befriend one of them by offering him some vodka…” – James Stentiford

Quiksilver in Brazil – blog 3

The third update from Ross, Dermo, Bosworth, Pete, CJ and Stenti on their Quiksilver mission to Brazil is now in, which sees the crew roll into Rio. Have a gander below for more snapshots and footage…

We're in Rio now for a few days. We did the tourist thing for the first day due to rain. In this photo you can see our local guides Gabriele, Lukas and our Brazilian legend of a tour guide Otavio. Oh, and a couple of baked Brits.

After Sao Paulo our Brazilian guide Otavio took us to this hotel by the beach with a concrete bowl two metres outside our room door. You can just see it in the background...

Quiksilver in Brazil – blog 1

The UK Quiksilver squad are currently on a pre-winter getaway over in Brazil, with Pete King, Ross McGouran, Sam Bosworth and Dan McDermott in tow, James Stentiford on TM duties and Chris Johnson in charge of all things photography based.

Keep an eye on the site over the coming days for regular updates from the trip, starting right now with a handful of snapshots and a little line from Ross…
