‘For The Kings’ – RIP The Boardroom edit from Get Lesta.

So this last weekend saw The Boardroom in Leicester close its doors for the final time, as the King family (that’s Dave,Tina and Vicky) left the indoor skatepark game to concentrate their efforts on Tilt Coffee House.

The Get Lesta crew decided to give the King’s a fitting send off by filming one final clip in the park, the fruits of which are online right now.

Have a look below to see what Shumba King, Eric Thomas, Mike Simons and the rest of the crew got up to during the parks final days, and massive props to the King family for their continued dedication to the Leicester scene.

Dave and the crew at Leicester’s long serving indoor establishment The Boardroom are moving on from skatepark life to pastures new in early March, with the final weekend confirmed as being Saturday 2nd/Sunday 3rd. The park will then reopen under new ownership with a new name shortly after – have a read of the two flyers below for further info.

All of us here at Sidewalk would like to extend thanks to Dave, Tina, Vicky, Trevor, Helen and everyone else at The Boardroom for all they’ve done for the Leicester scene over the years. Shatterproof rulers one and all.

Obviously the Get Lesta crew are hard at work filming a final send off clip for the park which will no doubt drop shortly after the parks closing weekend – more on that one soon…

The Boardroom Comp 2012 – November 25th, Leicester.

After a year or two off, The Boardroom Comp returns for 2012, once again bringing grassroots mid-winter skateboarding back to Leicester’s finest indoor establishment.

Head to The Midlands on November 25th for midday to get thyself involved – entry will set you back £5, there will be an under 12′s mini ramp jam, as well as sponsored and unsponsored street comps and best trick sessions.

Get Lesta “What’s Cookin’?” premiere blog!

Last Friday night saw the grand unveiling of the latest Get Lesta production What’s Cookin’?, at a hectic screening held at The Boardroom Skatepark, Leicester.

The entire crew was present, as well as heads from all over the UK who’d missioned through typical Friday evening rush hour traffic to be amongst the first to witness Callun Loomes ridiculous collection of Midlands skateboarding.

The video is available in most skateshops right now (stores – hit up Slugger to get this one in), with a full review to follow in the next issue of the mag.

John Bell’s good hip – more “What’s Cookin’?” hype from Get Lesta.

Unabomber pro John Bell has been around the Get Lesta crew almost constantly during the filming of their next offering “What’s Cookin’?”, which is premiering on Friday night at The Boardroom in Leicester. I don’t think John has a full part, but he’ll no doubt have a bunch of his trademark wildness thrown into the mix.

Get ready as filming for the next Get Lesta production “What’s Cookin’?” is in the final stages, with the entire crew working literally around the clock to wrap up last minute bangers. The official teaser for the video is now live and ready to be watched below, so start anticipating Midlands madness from the likes of Kelley Dawson, Joe Marks, Will Golding, Timmy Garbett , Shehzad Jaffer, Mike Simons, Eric Thomas, Luke McManus, Sam Taylor and Kris Vile. The entire crew has been slaying it this year, and if what we’ve seen is anything to go by, this one is going to be a genuine shocker!

The premiere is set to take place at The Boardroom, Leicester on October the 26th, DVD’s will be sold on the night and distributed through Slugger after that.
