The Works Skatepark in Leeds have teamed up with Welcome Skatestore to bring you a weekly Skate Night, which will run every Tuesday throughout winter.

Endemic Skatestore’s “End Of Summer Jam” footage.

To mark the passing of the finals days of summer, Endemic Skatestore in Huddersfield took over the nearby Newsome Skatepark and hosted an “End Of Summer Jam” for the local youths.

Sunday Service: Lee Rozee – “Dayzed and Confused” (2011)

Bradford’s Lee Rozee is a true underground street legend; you’ll never find him at events, it’s rare you see a photo of him, and chances are he’s been skating for longer than you’ve been alive. He’s only ever had three full sections, yet he’s out skating on an almost daily basis and forever uncovering fresh terrain in one of the most rinsed out cities in the UK.

His section in Rory McKenzie’s 2011 Leeds scene DVD “Dayzed and Confused” was an unexpected treat, which saw Roz once again destroy a load of spots you’ve never seen before or since, all of which is set to Seasick Steve. There’s no arguing that this is pretty much perfect inspiration for your Sunday afternoon roll.

Welcome Skateshop in Leeds are celebrating their second birthday this coming weekend, kicking off the festivities with an epic “skate pub quiz” at Whitelocks, which can be found in Turks Head Yard just off Briggate.

Sunday Service – Paul Silvester “Sub C-Y” (1998)

Paul Silvester has been going back through a load of his old VHS tapes and stumbled across his rare as you like section from Toby Batchelor’s 1998 independent video “Sub C-Y”.

Filmed during the early days of Unabomber, this part sees Man hitting up various spots throughout Leeds city center and the nearby university, during the same period where he was also filming for “Viewfinder 1″ (1998) and “Unapromo” (1998).

Anyway, a solid couple of minutes of illusive Silky footage awaits – click the play button below to get viewing.

What does “Sub C-Y” mean exactly? The most common theory is that it’s an abbreviation of “Sub Chocolate Yawn”.
