Suggestions

  • Why more houses, and less space for community facilities? The impact of these facilities will be severely impacted without the open space they current use.
  • No mention of the oldest indoor skatepark in UK in the whole exhibition
  • Reasoning given for development is invalid. Housing on this site is to the detriment of this area, and there is no need for the destruction of the Pioneer Club and Fire Station buildings, which are both far from “the end of their useful life”
  • Pioneer club needs more room. Outdoor space and more car parking are essential to running events.
  • First ramp at Pioneer was outdoors. Kids should be outdoors. Not only in an indoor soundproof box where people cant see or hear them.
  • Pioneer makes noise and opens late. Its operations would be negatively affected if residential developments are pushed right up to its boundaries.
  • Great resource for kids, young adults and adults. Not enough youth services in the area. Pioneer Club should not be reduced, it should be expanded.
  • Same old housing options as everywhere else. Build less, smaller affordable homes. Young people can’t afford houses in St.Albans.
  • Leave a gap between any development and the Pioneer Club.
  • Build less houses and spend a fraction of the cost of new building on refurbishing the Pioneer and Fire Station buildings to create an iconic Youth and Community Space.
  • Give kids more to do, and space to do it in. Not less
